Common prosperitySince the onset of the financial cri-sis, the new energy industry has beengiven another meaning——one withwhich to increase employment whilepromoting economic recovery.
Thanks to the long-term cultiva-tion of a series of policies, includingthe integration of renewable energyinto the power grid, price incentives,tax preference, investment subsidiesand export financing, the EU has be-come the major market of the globalnew energy industry.However, with the increasing ex-ploration of the market, the EU's ownmarket capacity is decreasing. How tostrengthen the comparative advantag-es it has already gained in the field ofnew energy, fully use them to expandthe international market, and transferthem to eye-catching economic figureshave become the question of greatestconcern for the member states.
The new energy industry has beendeveloping quickly in China, espe-cially renewable energy, which hasenjoyed a quick expansion in marketscale.
Nevertheless, the rapid develop-ment has not freed China from thelack of equipment-manufacturingcapacity and technological innovationcapability. In order to prevent China frombecoming a mere "workshop of the world,"Beijing desperately needs technologicalupgrades and enhancement of research anddevelopment ability.
Meanwhile, China is regarded as themost important potential market of newenergy. With the introduction of variousincentive policies, this market is graduallyshowing huge vitality.Wind power is an industry in whichChina-EU cooperation is relatively mature.Europe is the world's major technology sup-plier of wind power generation. Indeed, thethree major kinds of wind turbines currentlyin use are all first created and developed inEurope.
