Alice Sara Ott was born in Munich in 1988 and received her first piano lessons when she was four Since then, the German-Japanese pianist and student of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling at the Salzburg Mozarteum has won numerous important competitions and appeared in concert halls and at festivals in Europe, Japan and the USA.
1995 Wins first prize with distinction at Germany's "Jugend Musiziert" contest
1997 Wins first prize at the International Steinway Piano Competition in Hamburg and Berlin
1998 Wins first prize at the Vittoria Caffa Righetti International Music Competition where she also receives a special award for achieving the highest number of points in the contest
1999 Wins first prize at the International Steinway Piano Competition in Hamburg
2000 Wins first prize at the Grotrian-Steinweg Competition in Braunschweig.
2001 Wins first prize at the Karl Lang Competition in Munich
2002 Youngest finalist at Japan's Hamamatsu International Piano Academy Competition where she wins the "Most Promising Artist Award"; first prize at Germany's "Jugend Musiziert" contest; youngest prizewinner with distinction at the Salzburg International Summer Academy
2003 Wins first prize and mayor's special award for achieving the highest number of points at the Bach Competition in Köthen
2004 Wins first prize in the Pianello Val Tidone Competition in Italy as the youngest contestant, achieving the highest number of points ever awarded Wins first prize at the Grotrian-Steinweg Competition At the invitation of distinguished pianist Hiroko Nakamura she makes a successful solo debut in Japan, which is broadcast by NHK Gives a solo recital on Wagner's grand piano during the Bayreuth Festival

2007 Concerts include a triumphant performance at the Herkulessaal in Munich playing Liszt's Transcendental Etudes, and at the Ruhr Piano Festival where she steps in for Elena Bashkirova at short notice At the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival she also steps in for three pianists and receives both the festival's own special prize and the audience prize In Tokyo she plays sold-out concerts with the Yumiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra in the Opera City Hall and with the Kiev Philharmonic Orchestra in the Suntory Hall The German music magazine Fono Forum selects her as "Most Promising Artist of 2007"
2008 New York debut with a programme of Liszt at the Yamaha Artist Center She performs the Liszt Etudes in Germany again at the Reutlingen Listhalle to great acclaim Steps in for Murray Perahia in Basle where she is given a standing ovation for her performance of Beethoven's "Waldstein" Sonata and the Liszt Etudes Performs Liszt's Piano Concerto no 1 with the Tokyo Metropolitan Sym¬phony Orchestra in Tokyo, a Liszt programme at the Salzburg Mozarteum, and Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on the Theme of Paganini with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine in Kiev Festival appearances include the Schleswig-Holstein and Davos festivals In October she tours Japan with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra Alice Sara Ott signs an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon Her first recording of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes is released in Japan
