i think it much depends on your personality. if you're a party girl (well i assume you're a girl sorry if i'm wrong), you would probably feel much more comfortable having your first date at a party where your friends all are. if you then are ready to take it to the next level, you can meet up during the day, let him see the other side of you. vice versa.
