文摘Warm up

As the name suggests, this is intended as a quick way intothe unit, to help you and the students focus on the mainobjectives and to get them used to speaking the language. No matter what their level, students need time to warm upand an introduction to the content of the lesson. The Warmup is intended to be a short activity involving looking atthe picture of the unit personality, answering or brieflydiscussing one or two questions, doing a simple matchingexercise, etc. Do not let the Warm up go on for too long. There will be opportunities to discuss related questions in amore open-ended way later in the lesson. It's time to talkThis is the open practice section of each unit, designed toconsolidate the learning which you are aiming for learnersto achieve within a relevant and useful context: a transferfrom closed to open and from a generic to a more specificcontextualisation, although this varies from unit to unit.See also notes on pair and groupwork above.RememberCheck this section quickly with the whole class. Then ask:'What did we do today? If necessary, remind students of theobjectives of this lesson (by referring to your key lessonstructure words on the board or On the agenda).
