琳恩玛莲被发掘的过程也是满戏剧化，坐坐公车就碰上生命中的伯乐记者，进而和奥斯陆Virgin唱片公司签约，结果灰姑娘一夕之间美梦成真，不仅专辑在挪威当地大卖，在欧洲和日本也双双获得金唱片的销售好成绩，更在99年的MTV欧洲的音乐大奖中打败The Cardigans，拿下「北欧最受欢迎艺人」奖，使得琳恩玛莲原本平静的学生生活也起了大转变，除了要兼顾课业外，还要播出时间宣传唱片、接受电视电台报纸的访问，琳恩说：「虽然不知道为什么大家都喜欢我的音乐，但是真的很高兴，尤其是第一次帮歌迷签名时，真的是让我又惊又喜，印象深刻。」至于成名后，同学对她的态度是否有什么改变？音乐小精灵则很无奈的表示：「我觉得我还是我啊！但是我也不知道为什么，就是有些朋友改变了，开始不知道要如何跟我说话…」
现在西洋歌坛小天后Britney Spears、Christina Aguilera都又唱又跳，未来琳恩是否也会希望朝这个方向发展，像她的偶像之一Janet Jackson一样，小音乐才女赶紧表示：「喔！不！绝对不！」。不过琳恩倒是表示很希望能和U2的主唱Bono合作。那么爸妈会不会担心琳恩自己一个人在外巡回宣传？「不会，因为他们知道我很安全」，琳恩表示她的爸妈反而很低调，不太希望别人知道他们是星爸星妈，不过他们都很支持琳恩的音乐，因为他们知道这是她的梦想，所以其实他们也不是这么了解她到底在做什么，只知道他们的小女儿现在常常上广播和电视。 小女孩总是有些不想被外人知道的小秘密，所以小精灵倒是很懂闪躲飞行术，对于现在是否已经找到守护神王子？琳恩玛莲则坚不透露，只笑说：「这是秘密！」，不过对于喜欢男孩的类型，琳恩则爽快开出条件，一要高、二是人要好、三嘛！当然是要在一起要好玩啰。
