《威力网球 2009》中加入全新“世界巡回赛线上排名”功能，透过 PS3 与 Xbox360 的线上服务，将自己最满意的比赛分数上传到网络排行榜上，看自己在全世界的排名如何。赢得的奖金还可在新的网球商店 Tennis Store 购买 800 种以上的物品。
◆ 选手创造系统
玩家可以创建自己的原创角色，包括脸部、身体或是衣着造型等细节都可自由调整，创造出具个人风格特色的人物，并以此角色参加全新的世界杯巡回锦标赛，与其他超过 20 名以上的顶尖网球好手们一较高下。
◆ 全新角色及场地
游戏中将有超过 20 位世界级的顶尖球员，包括七名新角色以及三名传奇性的网球名将都会在本作登场，这些新人物全都是获得了台维斯杯（Davis Cup）官方授权的名将；同时，也会为比赛场地数注入更多的选择。
