Managing the Pro/ENGINEER concurrent engineering environment
Pro/INTRALINK is the premier workgroup management solution for product
development using Pro/ENGINEER. It lets Pro/ENGINEER users facilitate design
team collaboration and manages the power of Pro/ENGINEER associativity. It
provides a dynamic collaborative environment that supports the rapid and
effective design approach of Pro/ENGINEER.
Pro/INTRALINK manages the relationships between Pro/ENGINEER deliverables
from conception to design and manufacturing. It simplifies Pro/ENGINEER data

Simplifying Data Management Activities
Pro/INTRALINK simplifies the data management activities of engineers so they
can be productive. It offers powerful tools to incorporate information
management activities directly into the design process. Many such tasks that
need to be done in Pro/ENGINEER can be accomplished faster and more
efficiently by using Pro/INTRALINK. By facilitating design reuse,
Pro/INTRALINK makes copying and renaming existing designs and updating
related deliverables, such as drawings, effortless.
Working Concurrently on Product Development
Pro/INTRALINK supports change. It allows the different members of a design
team to work on interrelated aspects of a product design at the same time.
Pro/INTRALINK continually updates users about ongoing design activities. It
highlights interrelated design changes and updates out-of-date information
directly into Pro/ENGINEER sessions. With Pro/INTRALINK managing the changes
made to each component of a product, engineers can explore and understand
the implications of design changes for their work.
The Pro/INTRALINK collaborative environment is based on authorization
controls. Pro/INTRALINK provides administrative tools to control when design
changes are permitted and which users are authorized to make them. These
controls can be customized to flexibly define each role in the development
process.
As a result of these features and controls, engineers can avoid design
conflicts early in the product development process, reducing downstream
errors and engineering change orders. By enabling engineers to work
