The Tree They Grow So High 推出的第二年,Sarah Brightman 的专辑 The Songs That Got Away ,着实让人倍感惊讶。
The Tree They Grow So High
The Tree They Grow So High
Save The Best For Last,如果 Sarah 愿意就这首歌曲是否抄袭其作品,与 Vanessa Williams 对簿公堂,笔者觉得Sarah Brightman 实在很大的赢面。
If I Ever Fall In Love,老歌翻唱,仍然很有味道。 第13首 If Love Were All,动人的Saxphone,,风格则更接近 R&B 。
The Songs That Got Away "不无缅怀旧日的情怀。而 The Songs That Got Away

Contains 14 theatrical songs from failed stage productions, conducted by Michael Reed. Includes liner notes by Sheridan Morley. THE SONGS THAT GOT AWAY is a novel idea that was originated by Sarah's ex-husband, Andrew Lloyd Weber. This album is made up of songs that were removed early from Broadway or London shows, or from productions that didn't run for very long. And after one listen, it's easy to see that these songs hold up just as well as the most popular show tunes of all time. Sarah closed the '80s--a decade during which she was best known for her marvelous work in CATS and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA--with this memorable solo album. "Meadowlark" is a haunting piece from Stephen Schwartz's THE BAKER'S WIFE. "Mr. Monotony" is a beautiful number that's perfectly suited for Sarah's sweet voice. The song has actually been recorded a total of three times in its history. "Dreamers" is a wonderful melody from the critically panned JEAN SEBERG. Sarah Brightman's inspiring, sparrow-like voice is perfect for resurrecting these buried treasures. The album was produced by Weber and received conducting contributions from Marvin Hamlisch. These songs are perfect listening for fans of the genre.
