The Memory of Grandma

At the New Year’s second day, I went home and mourned a great soul. At the cold

tomb, I seemed to see my grandma’s kind smile. Dear grandma, are you happy in

heaven? I am sure you are there and you must know how I miss you. When I lit paper money, the memory of my grandma lingered on my mind.

About seventy years ago, an old couple who had a six-year-old son who was dumb and deaf adopted a new-born girl. The little girl was pretty and clever. Her coming gave the family happiness and joy. The couple, however, had their own girl two years later. In that age, they couldn’t bring up three children. After one day and one night discussion, the couple decided to abandon their own girl and breasted the adopted girl.

Twenty years later, the couple arranged a marriage the adopted girl married their son. The son, however, regarded the girl as his sister. He never stays with her in the same room. The couple love the girl more than the son, the girl, however spent every night alone and lonely.

After five years of their marriage, the son’s elder sister gave them a two-year

-old boy who is my father. Of course, the girl is my grandmother. From then on,

my grandma was buried in bringing my father up and taking care of the whole family. She took good care of my great-grandparents when they were at the end of their lives.

When I was a little girl, my mother told me this story and let me remember the story. She told me without my grandma, there would not be our family.

When I was nine, my father fell in love with another woman and he was going to divorce my mother. My grandma learned what the problem was in---it was that woman

’s trick. She stood back my mother and saved our family. This is why I hate those who love other’s husband or wife whatever him or her reason.

In my memory, my grandma was always kind to my families, and neighbors as well.

She let beggars sleep at my house at night and give them whatever we eat; she gave our good food to the poorer neighbors than us at every New Year; she never complained anything no matter how others treated her; she helped others never asked returns---her merits I can’t count one by one.

In my eyes, her back is warmest place in the world forever. When I was a child,

I always got cute disease at night. My grandma ran several Li with me on her back to see doctor. It was this back saved my little life several times

My grandma didn’t know a Chinese charter, she even couldn’t write her own mane

. She, however, knew how to love, how to give, how to tolerate---

I love my grandmother, no matter where she is.

Dragonfly.
