东芝、三菱联合平板显示器投资

IPS Alpha 技术有限公司是一家包括东芝、和三菱在内的几家消费电子制造商合资的风险投资公司。为了“迎合”消费者对平板电视的大量需求，目前公司计划投资800亿日圆（约）去扩大液晶电视的产量。

IPS’计划将在Mobara、日本千叶、等几个地方投资，计划到2008年5月31日，将产量由目前的250万面板产值增长到500万。

总体说来，IPS已经计划在捷克建立分支机构去生产TFT液晶电视模板，来满足欧洲平板电视市场的需求量。此项计划已经列入企业未来发展中，计划在2007年下半年开始生产。

Hitachi, Matsushita Make Joint Flat-Panel Display Investment

IPS Alpha Technology Ltd., a joint venture between several consumer electronics makers, including Hitachi Displays and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., is investing 80 billion yen (approx. U.S. $713 million) to expand its LCD production due to increased demand for flat-panel TVs.

The plan includes investments in IPS’ plant in Mobara, Chiba Prefecture, Japan and is said to increase production to 5 million 32-inch panels by March 31, 2008 from 2.5 million panels currently.

Additionally, IPS is considering building a plant in the Czech Republic to manufacture TFT LCD modules for the expanding European flat-panel TV market. The plant is scheduled to start production in the second half of 2007.
